Process

In our fast-paced lives, some moments are too special to let fade away. Whether it's a cherished celebration, a memorable gathering, or a simple moment of joy, preserving these memories can keep them alive forever. One of the most meaningful and elegant ways to do this is through preserved flowers placed within a serving board.

Imagine the beauty of your favourite blooms, frozen in time, encased within a serving board that you can display or use daily. These preserved flowers don't just serve as a piece of décor but as a reminder of a moment you hold dear. Each petal, vibrant and detailed, is a fragment of nature, now eternal. Whether it's from a wedding, a birthday, or a spontaneous moment of happiness, this arrangement allows you to carry those memories into your everyday routine.

More than just a floral keepsake, a serving board with preserved flowers is an artistic blend of natural beauty and functionality. Perfect for serving food or as a standalone piece of art, it invites conversation and admiration, offering a heartfelt story to share with friends and family. It's a lasting tribute to life's fleeting but precious moments.

From Bloom to Board - The Journey of Our Floral Preservation Process

1. Enquire with Us

Please include your event date so we can check availability. If your date is open and you’d like to proceed, a $100 deposit will secure your date and lock in our current pricing.

2. Discuss Your Order
We’ll chat about the items you’d like to order, wood selection (dark, light or red), your floral inspiration, and the delivery or pick-up of flowers.

3. Flower Drop-off
You can drop off your flowers at our studio 1-2 days after the event, or we can arrange for pick-up.

4. Flower Processing
We’ll process your flowers by placing them in silica to remove moisture over a few weeks.

5. Design Layout
Once it’s time to design your piece, we’ll remove your flowers from silica to create a design layout. This will be sent to you for approval before we begin pouring resin. Note that design layouts are provided for displays and charcuterie boards only.

6. Resin Pouring
Each piece is poured in layers of resin and can be anywhere from 3 to 12 layers thick. Resin is temperamental and can only be poured in specific temperatures and climates.

7. Curing
After being popped out of the mould, your piece will sit to cure for another week before sanding and polishing.

8. Final Touches
Once your piece has been photographed and packaged, you’ll receive a message to arrange collection or provide tracking information.

TIMBER

The timber used is West Australian grown, sourced sustainably and ethically along with supporting local south-west timber enthusiasts. Most of the timbers have a story and character shown in its grain, which I will try and provide you with your treasured piece.

We use a range of different timbers: Marri, Jarrah, Tuart, Blackbutt, Peppermint, Sheoak, Jam, Red Gum etc.

RESIN

The resin I use in all the products is an Australian high quality epoxy resin, suitable for dried flowers. There are options to choose a resin background colour, please note this when discussing your order.

FLORA

The flora I use in my creations are sourced sustainably and ethically. Many of them are sourced by my loved ones from them going on bush walks, or been gifted a bouquet from a special occasion or grown in their private gardens.

I also accept flowers from customers within Western Australia only for custom orders.
